Data Backups

After recent events many people are worried about having their important files backed up if a problem, such as a computer virus, hits their PC.

Most people, I'm afraid, worry about this after they have lost everything.

There are two main ways of making sure your backups are up to date and safe, Cloud Storage or local storage.

Local storage has been the traditional method where you may have an external USB Drive attached to your Computer which backs-up either nightly, weekly or scheduled to your requirements.

This solution is fine but if somebody steals your computer then the chances are they will steal the backup drive as well!

A NAS (Networked Attached Storage) is a good solution for small offices as everyone on the network can access and save the files while the data is mirrored onto a second hard drive.

Cloud storage is probably the best option if you have Fibre Optic as the important data is backed up to a cloud back provider, Livedrive for example, and you do not need to worry about recovering the data as this is all performed using an interface on your computer.

If you need any information on any aspect of data backup or anti virus solutions for your business or home here in Mijas Costa or anywhere on the Costa d
