Windows 7 support will end after 14th January 2020.
This means that Microsoft will no longer release security updates or patches for Windows 7 and this could leave your computer potentially unprotected.
This also means that other Software producers may no longer produce updates for their software unless it’s running on a Windows 10 Platform. Hardware Manufactures might also refuse to support or rectify any issues users may have if their equipment is used on a System running Windows 7.
Windows 7 was released in October 2009 and Microsoft recommends moving to a modern secure Operating System which is Windows 10.
Depending on the age of your Computer you can upgrade to Windows 10 and keep all your files and compatible apps / programs exactly how they were on Windows 7. However older PC’s and Laptops may be unable to run Windows 10 and users should think about replacing their old Computer with a newer model that can take advantage of the new features Windows 10 has to offer.
Today's PCs are faster, considerably more powerful, with a price that's comparatively less than that of the average PC when Windows 7 was introduced in 2009.
Although "End of Life" sounds dramatic you can actually still use your Windows 7 devices after January 14th 2020 but your computer will be more prone to security risks and viruses as there will be no more software and security updates released.
